Seminar Theme: Eclipse IDE and Plugin Development

Textbook: The Java Developer's Guide to Eclipse by Sherry Shavor, Jim D'Anjou, Dan Kehn, Scott Fairbrother, John Kellerman, Pat McCarthy
Aim: This seminar course surveys "hot" areas in software development. The goal is to expose students to new ideas that may not have made it yet into the core curriculum. In this summer seminar course, the discussion will focus on understanding the Eclipse IDE and its plug-in development environment and to develop a plug-in for the Eclipse IDE using the plug-in development toolkit.
Project: Each team will have 5 or 6 members to develop and implement a plug-in for the Eclipse IDE.
