Research

Research is emphasized throughout the department, and undergraduates as well as graduates are encouraged to take advantage of the many unique research opportunities that are available at CIS and UAB. The department's core areas of research expertise include: bioinformatics, cognitive modeling, computer graphics, distributed and parallel computing, grid computing, high performance computing, knowledge discovery and data mining, object-oriented technology, and software engineering.
