Jemale Lockett and Omar Ismail have been named semi-finalists in the 2009 Siemens Science Contest. The two Alabama School of Fine Arts students have been working over the past year on a robotics project where a model of a parking garage is used to generate the robotics control software to support an automated (valet-free) parking garage.
Jemale and Omar performed this work in the CIS Department with Dr. Jeff Gray and members of the SoftCom lab. They are advised at ASFA by Carol Yarbrough. Their summer internship was supported by an NSF CAREER award.
