Jeff Gray Named 2008 Alabama Professor of the Year

Associate Professor Jeff Gray has been named the 2008 Alabama Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and is in Washington, DC to receive the award today. 

He was recognized for his efforts in fostering interest in computer science among Alabama middle and high school students.  He has been instrumental in designing several innovative outreach programs including summer camps, teaching courses in area high schools, the Alabama high school programming contest and mentoring students for science fair projects, among others.
