A Time Zone Java Applet

This applet displays the current time of some cities around the world and allows you to reset the current local time and GMT to see how the other time zones change accordingly. It also allows you to search a time record by city or country name with several string matching options. The time zone information is based on Local Time Around the World. Daylight Savings Time (DST) in various countries, which usually runs one hour ahead from April through October, is not considered however in this applet. As a result, the time computed in the table may be one hour slower than the actural DST.

• To update the table, click the Update Time button.
• To change the local time, type in a time expression, such as "Apr 1, 1998 9:30:23" or "4/1/98 9:30:23" into the text box and press the Return key or click the Local Time: button.
• To change the GMT time, type in a time expression into the text box and hit the Return key or click the GMT: button.
• To search a time record, type in a city or country name, such as "New York" or "china" into the text box, choose the options and click the Find or the Find Next button.

A catch: you cannot set a time earlier than January 1, 1970 00:00:00 because it is the time origin of Java Date class used by this application.
