CS 625 is the "pivot" course between CS 425 and CS 725:

CS 425 simplifies CS 625. A popular scheme is for the 425 student to do
   all the work assigned to the CS 625 student but with an "allowance"
   whereby grading can be skewed by choosing "best" portions.
