PROJECT ASSIGNMENT #1

                                Due Thursday, January 16, 2003


        1.   Determine the tokens which would be recognized by a lexical analyzer  for
             the subject language.

        2.   Design a lexical analyzer which recognizes these tokens  and  prints  the
             token class and value, if any.

        3.   Test your  lexical  analyzer  on  the  sample  programs  in  the  subject
             language.   These  sample  programs  may  be  found at the class WWW page
             http://www.cis.uab.edu/info/dept/courses/cs622.
