You can skip the HomeWork from this section ... Or, do it for
extra credit ...


For your health, welfare and education .... pl. note

1. gadzillions of things to "prove" in the HW for Sect'n 4.6

2. Study Ex. 11's 'starred' examples and try to prove 11-c.

3. Study Ex. 15

4. Work out most of Ex. 17 ... and try to recall some of our
   remarks about the reverberating neural network called BAM

5. Look at 22 (and 23 probably) out of pure curiosity ... The
   ideas have bemused folks

6. Study Boolean ideas in starred problem 23. Refer also to
   Ex. 71 ... See that the min is the PRODUCT and max is
   the thresholded sum (thresholded to 1 for all values 1
   and above) ... and that both of these operations are 
   DIRECT ... i.e.  a(i1,j1) and b(i2,j2) only operate 
   when i1 = i2 and j1 = j2.
