Lab Instructions (Lab 1.2)

Note in the second step that the lab guide says that the instructor will provide a URL to tell you your computers IP address. A URL you can use is www.whatismyip.com.
In step four, you need to save on your network drive (Z:) instead of a floppy disk.
In step five, you can find the SSH Secure File Transfer. To find SSH Secure File Transfer:
- Go to the Start menu and go to All Programs.
- Go to All Programs
- Follow the arrow into the submenu and go to the SSH Secure Shell.
- The hostname for the SSH is cis.uab.edu
- The User Name field will be filled in by your username for the Windows machines (WM), and the password, when you are prompted, is your WM password.
In step six, the actual name of your web folder is webfiles.
In step eight, the URL to see if the file is available on the web is www.cis.uab.edu/username / filename (username being your username and filename being the name that you saved the file as.
