CCL is part of UABgrid initiative promoting sharing of campus and regional resources. As such, several large clusters are available for use by researches at our group through grid environment. Locally though, CCL has three clusters and a VisWall as described on the rest of this page.

[edit] Vizwall Cluster

  • 6 nodes, each with two dual-core AMD Opteron 270 CPUs (total 24 cores)
  • 4 GB RAM on each node
  • Gigabit network
  • Dual-head NVIDIA GeForce 7800 graphics adapters

[edit] VisWall

A 13 megapixel, nine tile visualization wall that measures approximately 10' wide by 8' high. The unified image is created by 9 DLP projectors connected via optical DVI cabling to the 5 rendering nodes in the visualization cluster.
