CALL FOR PAPERS FOR MINITRACK ON

DISTRIBUTED OBJECT AND COMPONENT-BASED SOFTWARE SYSTEMS

Part of the Software Technology Track

Thirty-eighth Annual HAWAI'I INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SYSTEM SCIENCES

January 3 - 6, 2005

Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island of Hawaii

This minitrack is based upon experience reports of researchers and practitioners actively involved in development of distributed object and component software technology.  The focus is on practical issues of design and implementation of distributed object and component software as an element of software engineering practice. The topics of the minitrack include the following:

a) object and component models for distributed computing

b) design patterns for distributed systems

c) middleware and its mapping for distributed systems

d) object and component quality, reliability and assurance

e) distributed systems integration

f) system allocation and resource management, distributed real-time scheduling, QoS management and scalability

g) programming languages and environments for distributed object and component systems

h) experiences in developing object and component-based software systems and applications
